Nayagan-Philosophy of Justice

"Film is the art of making man ethical"

The Voice of  Velu Nayakkar sounds is brave and ambiguous. It is deep and chaotic, absolutely sure of itself and ridiculous. To begin with filmmakers and their morals, it is very debatable and ethical.Nayagan considered as a "Film with the brutality of gangsters", and "Hooliganism of drug mafia". But, as a matter of fact, it is the rejectable argument. There are many sociological elements present on the screen.Firstly poverty, secondly domination of authorized people, and thirdly ethical based characters. And no need to mention the method-acting of Kamal Haasan.Naayagan is a story about a man who rises from the subdued society, on another hand, it is the story of the person who struggles with the social system, along with his people, and he is the only man who dares to do anything for his people's rights.Considering both the cases, the first story is based on 'Attitude', and the second one is 'Situational', by contrast, the second one seems more sensible.

To give an illustration of what I mean, let's look at the case of characters, most of them speak about the morality of good and bad, In other words, Justice and Injustice.Even Nayakkar didn't know whether he is in the region of justice or injustice. It is arguable, lets look at the characters, Firstly Velu's foster dad(in Mumbai), Velu ask himself about the moral, he told "All things are fair, when it helps to heal the hungry", Nayakkar also have this type of attitude of hope, which is inspired by his foster father.Later he died. This is the first key to the audiences. When it comes to his son, it clearly shows that he also has the same genre of thoughts. And finally, when it comes to Kamal, he also died for the same reason.

They are one type of characters, let's give the light to another genre, his daughter, she didn't accept the manipulations of Nayakkar's ethics. She only believes in law and justice.Lately, this issue is finished, when she married the policeman. After all the key elements, when we come close to choose the conclusion of moral, Maniratnam leaves us from the plot, with ambiguous question which is asked by Nayakkar's grandson, "Are you good or bad?", He answers that "I don't know dear".My own view on the matter is not about the moral of protagonist, but It is about which is fair and unfair, According to the philosophers,

"A Man is ethical only when life, as such, is sacred to him"

I empower the readers to judge this aptly.
